At the heart of the Shanling EC Smart Desktop CD Player is a renowned optical drive, the Sanyo DA11. The audio circuit uses a Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC capable of delivering precise, faithful sound reproduction.

Connectivity couldn’t be simpler. The EC Smart can be used with either a pair of active speakers or an amplifier, thanks to its rear line output in 3.5mm jack format (RCA adapter supplied). The player also benefits from a dedicated headphone output on the side, also in 3.5mm jack format, associated with a headphone amplification stage carried by an SGM8262 chip.

The modern EC Smart also features Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, so it can be paired with Bluetooth speakers for convenient wireless installation.

Thanks to its compact design and predominantly aluminum construction, the EC Smart fits easily into most interiors. What’s more, although it’s designed to be used mainly vertically, the bottom bracket can be removed, and the CD player can simply rest on its rear rubber feet, for horizontal installation.

When it comes to power, the Shanling EC Smart aims for even greater ease of use, since it requires only a standard 5V USB power supply and can therefore be powered by any phone charger, by the USB port on a computer or certain televisions, and even with a suitable portable battery.

Control of the unit is via the front control panel, featuring touch-sensitive buttons, or via the supplied infrared remote control.

JUST ADD A CD

Swing away the front control panel to reveal Sanyo DA11 optical drive, pop in your favourite CD and you are good to go. No complicated settings or smartphone apps, only a pure CD player with a few buttons and a basic infrared remote controller.

AUDIO CONFIGURATION

Audio section utilizes Hi-Fi quality Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC, offering clean and smooth sound. Just connect EC Smart to a pair of active monitors or even to a full speaker rig with powerful amplifiers, thanks to its rear line-out output (3.5mm jack, RCA adapter included). And for interrupted listening, they added a dedicated 3.5mm headphone output to the side of the CD player.

BLUETOOTH

The new generation of CD players is unique thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity and we brought the same to the EC Smart. Just pair it with your favourite Bluetooth speakers to bring your CD collection into the world of modern wireless audio.

CONSTRUCTION

Thanks to its compact design, with mostly aluminum construction, EC Smart fits easily into a wide range of homes. While designed to be used primarily in the vertical orientation, with the spinning discs being the centre of the attention, the bottom stand can be removed and CD player can simply rest on its rear rubber feet, for an even more compact setup.

And with EC Smart demanding only a basic USB power source, it can be powered directly from any phone charger, USB port on computer or TV. EC Smart can even run with portable battery chargers, if you would like to go completely off the grid in the parks or secluded mountain cabins.
