The Pro-Ject Dark Side Of The Moon Turntable with Pick It PRO Cartridge shows an enigmatic prism which reflects beams of light into space. A magical and mystical theme which illustrates the band‘s complex sound world.
For Pro-Ject, it was very clear: they need to create a turntable out of the artwork, which reproduces the dynamic and colours of the original album.
The result is an extraordinary turntable, which has never been there before. They were able to keep the core aspects of the artwork design and combined it with high quality materials.
The plinth is made of MDF which offers the perfect base. The stainless steel axle of the heavy aluminum sub platter sits in a bronze bushing. The flat silicon belt builds the connection to the AC motor, which ensures stable speeds.
Paired with the LED backlit rainbow, the turntable looks even more impressive while listening to your favourite records in the dark.
Their new Pick it PRO Balanced delivers the same lively and robust sound and is now also ready to be used in their True Balanced Connection. In that sense, it is the first MM cartridge of its kind! The perfect combination of components is the key to achieve the great charismatic sound of the Pick it PRO.
Balanced audio connections are standard among professional musicians, recording studios, and live concerts. It is essential to have a stable & interference-free connection as these signals, The significant advantage of a balanced connection is its ability to remove picked up noise and interferences.
The Debut PRO B comes with their balanced MM cartridge – the Pick it Pro Balanced – and a balanced mini XLR phono output.
Cartridges are balanced signal transducers by nature! Due to the internal wiring of typical MM cartridges, until now, you needed to upgrade your turntable with an MC cartridge. But not with the new Pick it Pro Balanced! The special Pick it PRO Balanced has been modified to access the entirety of that balanced signal.
Together with the separately available True Balanced Connection cables and true balanced phono stages – for example the Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B – you’ll be able to access high-end features that were previously only available on the most expensive of turntable setups.
The Debut PRO was released in 2021. The Debut PRO B was released in 2024 and adds a new cartridge – the Pick it PRO Balanced – and mini XLR outputs to the Debut PRO formula.
This sets the Debut PRO B up to be used with the True Balanced phono stages. The Phono Box S3 B, Phono Box DS3 B, Tube Box DS3 B and Phono Box RS. All you need is a separately available True Balanced phono cable. The new mini XLR output is ideal for that!
The Debut PRO B can however still be used with regular single ended phono stages as well. Note: also the old Debut PRO can be upgraded with our True Balanced Connection.
As soon as you upgrade your Pick it PRO cartridge to a Pick it PRO Balanced (or any other MC cartridge) you are good to go. All that’s left then, is choosing one of their True Balanced phono stages and a True Balanced RCA to mini XLR cable. Even their standard RCA outputs are configured by nature – on all of our turntables without built in phono stage – for True Balanced phono output!
The small benefits of the mini XLR output on the new Debut PRO B are slightly better shielding and that mini XLR connectors are generally more convenient as it won’t require you to fuzz around with 2 RCA wires plus ground cable. There is just one, easy connector.
The Debut PRO B brings an absolutely new design to Pro-Ject turntables. The audiophile turntable is convincing in all respects – not only visually, but more importantly also in terms of sound.
The precision CNC milled parts are optically perfectly coordinated and lead the Debut PRO B to its modern simple, elegant and unprecedented design. The nickel finish of all these aluminium components result in a hard, resistant surface. This process enables us to produce very high-quality and sustainable components and avoid plastics and similar materials that continue to age over time and would more importantly also degrade sound quality.
The tonearm bearing is a completely new design. Precision CNC’d out of a single block of aluminium, you can see all the production stages above. The last step is putting a nickel finish on it. This will increase the rigidity of the bearing, ensuring free and fluid movement of the tonearm and precise tracking without material degration in looks or function.
